Education

Each child's placement inside our families is based on their educational needs.

Our goal is to give each of our children with the skills and qualifications they need to grow and reach their greatest potential.

What distinguishes us from other care providers?
As a care organisation, Oasis Residential Care places a high value on children's educational welfare and assisting children and young people in realising their full educational potential and obtaining the highest academic level possible. Wherever possible, we want the majority of children and young people to attend local authority-run mainstream or special educational schools. Home tutoring will be offered if children or young people are unable to attend mainstream or special educational needs programmes.

Our primary goal is to assist young people in returning to regular or special schooling. This is accomplished in collaboration with the young person's LEA and any accessible local resources. The child's or young person's key worker will be responsible for keeping in touch with and liaising with the individual's school or tutor in order to stay informed about the child's or young person's progress.

Oasis Residential Care will strive to establish and maintain healthy and positive connections with all educational parties engaged with the child or young person in order to ensure that they receive the best possible education. Each house has a member of staff who is responsible for keeping in touch with the young person's school. (The individual's key worker will be in charge of this.) As an organisation, we will strive to retain close ties with each individual's educational model, whether it is a traditional school or a private tutor.
