Recreation

Children and teenagers are encouraged to actively engage in the planning of their activities and to find hobbies or pursuits that they are interested in. Every attempt is made to provide young people with opportunities to explore new things.

Oasis Residential Care does this by creating weekly activity plans with the children during our weekly young persons’ sessions.

Being on the fringes of a big city has the benefit of providing a diverse range of leisure and recreation possibilities to satisfy all interests. Restaurants, theatres, museums, theme parks (e.g., Drayton Manor, Alton Towers), and the beach will all be frequented by children and teenagers.

They also like ten-pin bowling, rock climbing, ice skating, and going to the movies.

Young people are encouraged to participate in community cultural and religious events such as Chinese New Year celebrations, Ramadan, Eid, Christmas, Easter, St Patrick's Day Parade, Diwali, Hanukah, and other carnivals. Birthdays of children and teenagers are usually observed at home.

Staff and young people from the home are invited to birthday celebrations if suitable. Birthdays can also be commemorated with house parties, lunches, or activities organised by the children or young person.
